Life Insurance with Living Benefits

Protection That Pays While You're Still Here.

Traditional life insurance only pays after you're gone. Our policies — issued through National Life Group — include living benefits that give you access to your coverage during critical illness, chronic conditions, or terminal diagnosis.

THE DIFFERENCE

Four Benefits. One Policy.

Your policy works for you at every stage — not just at the end.

Critical Illness Benefit

Access a portion of your death benefit if diagnosed with a qualifying critical illness such as heart attack, stroke, or invasive cancer. Use the funds for treatment, recovery, or any purpose you choose.

Chronic Illness Benefit

If you become permanently unable to perform two or more Activities of Daily Living (ADLs), you may access your policy's death benefit while still living — providing income when you need it most.

Terminal Illness Benefit

If diagnosed with a terminal illness with a life expectancy of 12 months or less, you can access your benefit early to handle final expenses, medical bills, or leave a legacy on your own terms.

Death Benefit

Your family receives a lump sum death benefit upon your passing — generally income-tax-free — providing financial continuity: mortgage protection, income replacement, education funding, and peace of mind.

COMMON QUESTIONS

Frequently Asked Questions

What are living benefits?

Living benefits are riders attached to a life insurance policy that allow you to access a portion of your death benefit while still alive, upon diagnosis of a qualifying critical, chronic, or terminal illness.

Does using living benefits reduce my death benefit?

Yes — any amount accessed through living benefits is deducted from the total death benefit. Your advisor will explain the exact mechanics during your consultation.

Is the benefit I receive taxable?

In most cases, living benefit payments are received income-tax-free. However, tax treatment depends on individual circumstances. We recommend consulting a tax professional for your specific situation.

Do I need a medical exam to qualify?

Many of our policies offer simplified issue or no-exam options, depending on coverage amount and health profile. We'll identify the best path during your consultation.

What conditions qualify for the critical illness benefit?

Qualifying conditions typically include heart attack, stroke, invasive cancer, end-stage renal failure, major organ transplant, ALS, and others as defined in the policy. Full details are provided in the policy contract.
